It's been a while since I've had the pleasure of working in a physical space with other people (thanks COVID), but I still found myself enjoying this podcast from NPR's Life Kit and reflecting on the role of emotions in the workplace.

Here are some of my take aways:

*Emotions are useful, they help us make decisions

*Having a good work/life balance results in more balanced emotional expression at work

*Research at a tech company showed that women (especially women of colour) were more likely than their male colleagues to receive vague feedback without actionable advice, which effectually holds women back from advancing their skills and position in the workplace. So, give ALL of your colleagues specific critical feedback!
